"The Blues" is the very basis of jazz, R & B, and rocknroll, and has had a deep and profound influence on American and Western popular music for decades.  "The Blues" has been referred to as "Devil's music."

SRV facts from 1989:
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble recorded their 4th album, "In Step," in February of 1989, the year this photograph was taken.  "In Step" was thought by some to equal Vaughan's first album "Texas Flood."  "In Step" won the Grammy for "Best Contemporary Blues Album" in 1990 at the 32nd annual Grammy Awards.  In late 1989, Vaughan toured with guitar great Jeff Beck.  And, on November 26, 1989, Stevie was honored by Lee Cooke, the Mayor of Austin, Texas, when he declared that date "Stevie Ray Vaughan Day."

"You see, we are here, as far as I can tell, to help each other - our brothers, our sisters, our friends, our enemies. That is to help each other and not hurt each other."

Bob and Studebaker John, Feb. 8, 2008

Hey Lou,
Just wanted to let you know that your web site is the bomb. Things are going great down here in Dixie. In fact, there are so many good old southern bands down here, it's unbelievable. On Feb. 8th, 2008, Suzy and I saw an old blues band which kicked ass back in the old days, Savoy Brown. If you want to hear some great licks and see some old posters and pics, check out their web site.
Thought you could edit these pics if you want. They didn't turn out very good. Studebaker John is REAL good and can he play the harmonica. He is the first set of pics. Then comes Savoy Brown (Kim Simmonds).  He has a great sense of humor and played from his new Metal album, and the old favorites.
